Where to Stay in Summit County

Four world-class resort towns, all within minutes of each other. Here's how to pick the right base for your trip.

Summit County is the densest cluster of skiing in North America — Keystone, Breckenridge, Copper Mountain, and Arapahoe Basin all sit within about 30 minutes of one another, anchored by the lakeside towns of Dillon and Frisco. Wherever you stay, you’re close to everything. The question is really about the vibe you want at the end of the day.

Choosing where to stay — FAQ

Keystone is the classic family pick — ski-in/ski-out lodging, the Kidtopia snow fort and activities, night skiing, and a pedestrian village. Copper Mountain is also excellent for families thanks to its naturally separated beginner terrain and Woodward.

Breckenridge has by far the most walkable dining, shopping, and après scene on its historic Main Street. Dillon and Frisco add lakeside dining and the Dillon Amphitheater concert series.

Dillon and Frisco sit right at the hub of I-70 and Highway 9 — typically 10–25 minutes from Keystone, Breckenridge, Copper, and Arapahoe Basin — which makes them ideal if you want to ski several resorts in one trip.

Absolutely. Summit County packs four resorts (Keystone, Breckenridge, Copper, and Arapahoe Basin) within about 30 minutes of each other, with Loveland, Vail, and Beaver Creek a short drive farther. A central Dillon/Frisco base makes resort-hopping easy.
