Free concerts, mountain-pass bike rides, stargazing with a cold beer, and a festival finale — Copper Mountain packs its summer with things to do, and most of them are free.

When the snow melts, Copper’s Center Village trades ski boots for lawn chairs. From July through September 2026, the resort hosts a steady run of live music, cycling events, family activities, and one-of-a-kind mountain experiences. Here’s the rundown of what’s on the calendar and how to make the most of a Copper summer day.

Free Live Music: Copper Live

Copper’s flagship free concert series, Copper Live — presented by the Play Forever Foundation and Odell Brewing Co. — returns for the summer with Colorado bands in Center Village on July 11, July 25, and August 15. Spread a blanket on the lawn, grab a bite from the village restaurants and an Odell pour, and soak up an afternoon of music with the Ten Mile Range as your backdrop. The Fourth-of-July weekend gets its own party with Red, White, Brews & Tunes (July 3–4).

Cycling Season: Copper Triangle & Courage Classic

Copper is a hub for Colorado road cycling. The Courage Classic Bicycle Tour (July 18–19) is a beloved two-day ride based out of the resort that benefits Children’s Hospital Colorado. Two weekends later, the legendary Copper Triangle (August 1) sends riders over three high mountain passes — Fremont, Tennessee, and Vail — on a roughly 80-mile alpine loop that starts and finishes right at Copper. Little ones get in on the fun too with the free Little Riders Rally race series for riders up to age six (July 15 & August 12).

After Dark: Ales & Astronomy and Mountain Mixology

Some of Copper’s most memorable summer events happen once the sun dips behind the peaks. Ales & Astronomy (July 24 & August 15) pairs guided stargazing with Odell beer under famously dark high-altitude skies. For something more refined, Mountain Mixology (July 19, August 16 & 30, and September 6) serves craft cocktails built from freshly foraged ingredients, all enjoyed with sweeping Ten Mile views at Aerie.

Family Fun: Jib Jam, Cornhole & Clean-Up Day

The July Jib Jam (July 3) brings a summer rail jam to the Hike Park — a high-energy, spectator-friendly session of jumps and features. On the Fourth, partner up for the single-elimination Cornhole Tournament presented by YETI. And on July 11, give back to the mountain at the community Mountain Clean Up Day presented by Pepsi.

The Grand Finale: Union Peak Festival

Copper closes out the season with its signature Union Peak Festival (August 28–30) — a full-weekend convergence of community, art, and sport in Center Village. The weekend is anchored by the Summit UP Run, a Mammut-presented 5K trail run that starts at a lung-testing 11,000 feet (August 29), and wraps up with Union Peak Yoga & Breakfast presented by Subaru (August 30) — a restorative way to send summer off in style.
