Feb 12: 7:30-9am

*Features a Burton Pro-Test amateur snowboard competition.

Burton Mountain Festival stops will include up to four key elements: Burton Test Ride, Riglet Parks, Pro-Test and live music for an entire day of good times. And while each festival stop will be unique, the foundation of the festival is the Burton Test Ride program, which will be at all 10 stops. Test Ride is where virtually the entire 2012 Burton hardgoods line will be on tap for riders to test at absolutely no charge. Riders can try out a variety of boards, boots and bindings to get a feel for their ultimate set-up.

In addition to Test Ride, some events will have a Pro-Test, which is an amateur snowboard competition for men and women featuring halfpipe and slopestyle contests that will award a total of $7000 at each stop. At every Burton Pro-Test event, riders can also win four wildcard spots to compete in the US Open pre-qualifiers, and all Pro-Test events are 4Star TTR World Snowboard Tour events. A few of the Pro-Test competitions will be extra amazing, including the stops at Killington and Northstar, where the contest will run through the Burton Stash parks. For complete Pro-Test dates, details and formats, head to http://www.burton.com/pro-test

For the youngest riders, every Burton Mountain Festival stop will also feature a Burton Riglet Park where kids as young as three can try out snowboarding for FREE. Burton will provide snowboards, boots and bindings sized for the smallest kids to borrow at no charge. Kids will also be able to try out Burton’s revolutionary Riglet Reel, a specially designed reel attached to the nose of youth snowboards that makes learning easier than ever. And certified snowboard instructors will help kids learn to ride on mini features like boxes, ramps and rails.

Finally, all Burton Mountain Festival stops will feature special après events and live music. Stay tuned to www.burton.com/bmf for updates on live music acts and party details as they’re announced.

For complete details on the Burton Mountain Festival and to find out what’s happening at each stop, head to www.burton.com/bmf.

And thanks to our presenting partner MINI and partners Kodak, Mountain Dew, Mitch by Paul Mitchell and Snowboarder Magazine for their support of the all new Burton Mountain Festival.

Winter Bluegrass Festival, including music on all three days performed by Willy Porter and the Mealies, The Pine Beatles, The Haunted Windchimes, and Finnders and Youngberg just to name a few. Join us in Keystone on Superbowl weekend for some skiing and some awesome live Bluegrass music.

Cost: $12 per person/$30 for full access, advance 3 day pass. Purchase tickets here:

http://keystonewinterbluegrass.eventbrite.com/. Day of ticket price $15 per person / $35 for 3 day pass.

Thursday, February 2nd

Willy Porter: “If you have never heard of this guy before, you are in for the musical discovery for a lifetime, he can play guitar perhaps greater than anyone else on the planet.” So critics rave about Willy Porter: singer, song writer and guitarist. Willy Porter has performed with Tori Amos, Ian Anderson and the Cranberries, but his greatest gifts are as a dazzling song writer and folk/rock musician of striking originality.

The Mealies: During a supposed one-time collaboration in 2010 between guitarist/singer/songwriter Willy Porter and Carpe Diem, the mealies wowed audiences and realized they had created a unique ensemble outside the lines of their individual musical identities. Those performances are now captured in part on the CD, “the mealies – Live at BoMA.”

Friday, February 3rd

The Mossgatherers: The Mossgatherers were formed on St. Swithin’s Day 1971 under the name “Man Gaga” in an effort to win the coveted bluegrass opening spot on the recent Parliament/Funkadelic tour. After losing out to the funky but folksy female trio “West Compton HoDown,” they instead turned their sights towards producing blunt cutting-edge bluegrass with grass bluer than the grass in Boise State Stadium and almost as authentic.

The Pine Beatles: The Pine Beatles are as cheeky and irreverent as their name. Born from the simple desire among friends to play and share music with others, the band was born out of spontaneous Sunday evening jams. Playing private parties, non-profit fundraisers, cook-outs and Weddings, this community based band soon became known around Summit County as a fun component of any friendly gathering.

The Haunted Windchimes: The Haunted Windchimes sound is very traditional folk and blues and the songs have a vintage quality, as if they might have been written yesterday or 75 years ago. It’s the vocal harmonies that really set them apart, a three-headed juggernaut of Desirae Garcia, Chela Lujan, and Inaiah Lujan. When their voices blend, it’s nothing short of beautiful. The sound is often moody and melancholy, but is always deeply affecting. That sound is embroidered by the instrumental mastery of Mike Clark and the standup bass foundation of Sean Fanning.

Saturday, February 4th

The Steel Pennies: Steel Pennies is a hard driving bluegrass band out of Louisville, CO that comes armed with lots of originals and a healthy respect for traditional bluegrass. Their humorous, upbeat stage presence is a reflection of the fun they have as performers, and always pass it on to the audience. They’ve played festivals all over the Rocky Mountain West, including the Keystone Bluegrass and Beer Festival last summer in River Run.

Finnders and Youngberg: In May of 2011 Finnders and Youngberg released their 2nd album, titled FY5, of all original Bluegrass and Americana music. The new recording has topped the charts at Colorado public radio stations from July through December of 2011 and was back to #1 at Colorado Sound for the month of December. FY5, the new CD, is proving to be a powerful and lasting compilation of original music but Finnders and Youngberg has also been making waves as one the most entertaining bands to watch on the Bluegrass circuit today. Don’t miss a chance to see this band’s live performance and get one of the new CD’s….you’ll wish you had brought your Mom to the show.

Parking: Free parking will be available at the River Run Lots, located just off Gondola Road.

Directions: From I-70, take Highway 6 East towards Keystone (7 miles). Turn right onto

Gondola Road and follow signs to free parking lots.

All events are subject to change. Pets are prohibited at all Keystone Events.
