COPPER TRIANGLE BICYCLE TOUR
On August 3-5, i25 Kia.com partners with the Davis Phinney Foundation for the 13th annual Copper Triangle, a 78-mile alpine cycling event. Featuring challenging climbs over Fremont Pass, Tennessee Pass and Vail Pass, the Copper Triangle ride has long been considered one of Colorado’s classic road rides. All proceeds raised benefit Parkinson’s disease research.
A spectacular 78-mile loop cresting three mountain passes – Fremont Pass (elevation 11,318’), Tennessee Pass (elevation 10,424’) and Vail Pass (elevation 10,666’). The course passes three ski areas and is littered with historic mining outposts and camp Hale, the training ground for the famous 10th Mountain Division. The total elevation gain for the course is 5,981 ft. A great day on two wheels. The Alpine Cycling Classic exemplifies cycling in the Colorado Rockies which features challenging high-altitude climbs over Fremont Pass, Tennessee Pass and Vail Pass. - 5:30 a.m. to 8 a.m. – Registration / Packet pick-up
- 5:45 a.m. to 8 a.m. – Start times (all riders must start before 8 a.m.)
- Sunday: Concert
Riders will start and finish at Burning Stones Plaza in central Copper Mountain Resort, Colorado. Amply stocked aid/rest stations will be positioned throughout the course. Upon returning from your ride, participants will be greeted by the “Alpine Celebration”. The post-ride party, with music, a first – class lunch, prize drawings and cycling expo will continue throughout the afternoon.
