DIRTY GIRL MUD RUN

On June 10, get down and dirty with the Dirty Girl Mud Run. This women-only 5k run is designed for all ages and athletic abilities. This untimed “race” is unlike anything you’ve ever experienced before with 14 obstacles for you and your gals to tackle – with lots of mud of course! As the World’s Largest Women’s Only Mud Run, Dirty Girl not only allows you to unleash your fierce but run for a good cause. A portion of registration fees go to breast and ovarian cancer awarness. #LetsDirtyGirl

Let’s make a weekend out of it! The ultimate girl’s getaway full of adventure and camaraderie mixed in with a little mud, music, food and even some beverages….all for a great cause.

1 in 8 women will be diagnosed with breast cancer in her lifetime and 1 in 67 will develop ovarian cancer. These women are our sisters, mothers, daughters and best friends. What are we going to do to ensure that we and our loved ones do not become a statistic? We are going to band together to raise awareness and have quite a bit of fun in doing so #ForTheGirls.

So, what are you waiting for? Book a room and pack your bags.

Event Day Info

The Event-Day information document will be sent out the week prior to the run!

Don’t worry – it’s not a “race” in the traditional sense. It’s an untimed 5K obstacle course designed to push you slightly out of your comfort zone, but only as far as you’re comfortable going. Forming teams is encouraged, and so is helping and cheering your fellow Dirty Girls to the finish. At a Dirty Girl Mud Run you’ll find excitement, laughter and camaraderie—as well as lots of music and even some adult beverages. It’s a mud-covered day you’ll never forget.

Course Description

Run, walk, climb, crawl—you’ll experience it all at our Dirty Girl Mud Run. The event will happen rain or shine (or snow).  Costumes and teams are highly encouraged (aka – think tutu’s, dirty team names and custom team shirts).

The course is typically a mix of off road and some pavement, so wear your running shoes but not your favorite running shoes because they will get REALLY MUDDY.  Most women opt to wear a very old pair and donate them them to our charity at the finish line.

The course is 3.1 miles long with approximately 10-12 “obstacles”.  At registration, you will pick your “Start Time Wave” beginning at 10:00 am and going until 1:30 pm and every half hour in-between.  You will start with approximately 250 other women and because it is an un-timed event, you can go at your leisure.  Over 50% of participants choose to walk and/or light jog  so that they can stick together with their whole team.

Course Strategy

You will need to arrive 60 minutes prior to your registered wave time. First wave is at 10:00 am and they start every 15-30 minutes.Take it easy and have fun! It is not timed or competitive so you can go entirely at your own pace. The course may include off road terrain, so be careful. You’re sure to get muddy, wet and experience some cheek busting laughter. You can expect safety throughout the course and water stations at Mile One and Mile Two along the course.

When it comes to strategy on the course, if you really want to challenge yourself, we recommend joining an earlier wave (aka – 10:00 am) so that you can run as fast as you want and not wait for anyone on the obstacles in front of you.  If you’re running in a big team, take your time!  This is supposed to be fun but also challenging.  Most women chose to walk the course and enjoy the obstacles.  Feel free to bring a phone or a camera (just put it in a ziploc baggy) because you won’t want to miss the smiles!   We have professional camera crews at certain points on the course, but you may want even more photos!

Obstacles

Conquer the “Get a Grip” rope climb at our obstacle race with just a little help from your best friends. There will be 10-12 obstacles at each event, but don’t worry…if you get to an obstacle that’s more than a challenge for you-we won’t tell if you take a detour! Just don’t be surprised if you get a little down and dirty at the Dirty Girl Mud Run!

There will be walls to climb over, tunnels of mud to crawl through, fire to jump over, and massive slides to slip down!  It will be the best time you had on two feet all year!
