The Colorado Cyclist Copper Triangle course is a spectacular 78-mile loop cresting three Colorado Mountain passes – Fremont Pass (elevation 11,318’), Tennessee Pass (elevation 10,424’) and Vail Pass (elevation 10,666’). The course passes three ski areas and is littered with historic mining outposts and camp Hale, the training ground for the famous 10th Mountain Division. The total elevation gain for the course is 5,981 ft.
Ride Start Time
Please plan to start your ride between 5:45 a.m. to 7:45 a.m. ALL riders MUST be on the road by 8:00a.m. We encourage riders to begin early to avoid the traditional afternoon mountain thunderstorms and highway traffic. Colorado State Patrol will not allow anyone to start prior to first light (5:45 am) without both front and back lights on your bike.
Cyclist will start and finish at Burning Stones Plaza in central Copper Mountain Resort, Colorado. Amply stocked aid/rest stations will be positioned throughout the course. Upon returning from your ride, participants will be greeted by the “ Volkswagen Alpine Celebration”. The post-ride party, with music, a first – class lunch, prize drawings and cycling expo will continue throughout the afternoon.

Jersey & Packet Pick Up
If you did not choose to have your packet mailed to you, you can pick up your packet at Kokopeli Trail in the Copper Conference Center at Copper Mountain at the following times:
Friday August 2 – 4p.m. – 8 p.m.
Saturday August 3 – 5:30 a.m. – 8 a.m.
Bike Numbers & Wrist Bands
You must wear your event bike number and wrist bands at all times!! Your bike number must be attached to the top tube of your bicycle. The numbers are designed to stick to themselves and not to your bike. The Colorado State Patrol has the authority to remove anyone without a bike number from the course. Attendants will be monitoring all aid stations and you will need to show your wrist band in order to receive refreshments. Your wrist band will also allow you to enter the post-ride Alpine Celebration and lunch.

Packet Mailing
Ever wanted your packet before the event??? Well we can mail it! Mark the option when you register, However, you must choose this option by Monday July 1
Packets will be mailed starting July 1st . If you register on July 1 packets will be mailed prior to the event. We do have a process to get your packet mailed, so please be patient with us. If you do not see your packet by July 30th
Weather
Expect temperatures to be in the upper 30’s to low 40’s at the start with normal daytime highs in the upper 60’s to low 70’s. Mountain weather is highly variable, so be prepared for thunderstorms or even rain.
Camping
There is NO RV or car camping available at Copper Mountain Resort the weekend of the event. However, there are several campsites near Frisco, and Lake Dillon, CO just a few miles down the road from the resort.
Breakfast
Copper Mountain has a number of restaurants in center village that will be open before the ride.
The Belgian Bean offers excellent coffee drinks and scrumptious Belgian style Waffles. For only $6.00, enjoy one of our signature Belgian Waffles with a small coffee or hot chocolate while relaxing on our sunny patio with free Wi-Fi.
Stop in for a hot cup of coffee and one of our freshly made breakfast sandwiches, pastries, or muffins to gear up for your ride
